The labour shortages continue and there continues to be recruitment issues for most sectors of sectors of our economy

The hospitality sector certainly had a strong season in comparison to the last few years which was certainly good news for everyone associated with this vital sector of our local economy.

However, as everyone is aware the labour shortages continue and there continues to be recruitment issues for most sectors of sectors of our economy.

The workforce needs of the health care sector are especially troubling as the effects are enormous to everyone.

On a positive note – a number of employers have modified their needs (hours of work) and increased their wage rates to attract new workers with good results.
