3. Labour Market Information (LMI) Newsletters

Over the past several years, EWIB had been producing quarterly newsletters on labour market trends and other pertinent information. However, it was decided to produce shorter, more frequent and targeted newsletters highlighting selective topics impacting our local labour market. Therefore, as of April 2025, EWIB is producing monthly LMI Bulletins, each focusing on a particular topic. These bulletins also include current job postings for the area.

Visit EWIB Newsletters and LMI Bulletins to read current and past newsletters.

4. Local Labour Market Planning (LLMP) Reports

The Local Labour Market Planning (LLMP) Report is an annual report that highlights changes in local labour market information including demographics, industry and occupational composition and job trends. It also identifies key workforce challenges and opportunities in the Eastern Workforce Innovation Board (EWIB) region with collaboration of community partners.

Visit the LLMP Reports page to review current and previous LLMP reports.

This 2024-25 LLMP Report is comprised of both quantitative and qualitative data. The quantitative information found in the document is derived from a number of data sources including:

• Employment Ontario Data
• Canadian Business Counts
• Community Data Program
• 2016 Census and 2021 Census
• Labour Force Survey
• Taxfiler Data
• Lightcast – data modelling
• Employment Insurance Data
• Statistics Canada
• IRCC (Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada)
• National Job Bank

Qualitative data has been compiled from information gathered from various outreach initiatives conducted throughout the year involving local employers, workers, service providers, educators and other community agencies. One hundred and fifty-two (152) agency representatives and employers participated in local consultations and/or surveys. The valuable input gathered from these stakeholders helped to inform the EWIB regarding current challenges and opportunities within the local labour market.

5. Community Profiles

There are nineteen (19) municipalities (cities, towns, townships) in the catchment area of the Eastern Workforce Innovation Board (EWIB). 2021 Census Profiles have been completed on each of these areas. The profiles are in a flyer format and includes information on: population, income, language, employment, education and mobility.
