Promoting the Value of Apprenticeship Program to Employers
The focus of this brief on-line video is to provide a positive employer to employer message regarding the value of the apprenticeship program. The companion ‘Making Cent$ of Apprenticeship’ Booklet provides further details about the apprenticeship program with local contacts.
The 1000 Islands Region Workforce Development Board coordinated a multi-media presentation to promote the value of Literacy and Essential Skills programs to employers. This entertaining video underscores the value of hiring employees with the right essential skills.
As part of the Internationally Educated Professionals Conference, the local board is coordinating a South Eastern Ontario Employer Diversity Award, to recognize and celebrate cultural inclusiveness in the local workplace. Nominations for the award will be solicited and accepted until February 20, 2010. The award will be presented at the end of the Internationally Educated Professionals Conference on March 1, 2010.
The 1000 Islands Region Workforce Development Board is co-partnering in the coordination of an Internationally Educated Professionals Conference scheduled for Monday, March 1, 2010 at the Four Points by Sheraton in Kingston, Ontario.
