Trends, Opportunities and Priorities (TOP) 2010
Each year, local boards undertake a comprehensive community consultation process that engages local labour market partners in the identification, validation and prioritization of the trends, opportunities and priorities (TOP) that prevail in their local economy. Through this process, local boards involve community partners in the development of a one to two year action plan to respond to local labour market challenges.
As part of the process this year, the 1000 Islands Region WDB focused on identifying key industries in which there appeared to be labour market opportunities or major challenges. This TOP REPORT reflects input from discussions with employers and other community partners to determine strategies and partnerships to help address opportunities and/or challenges over the short-term.
